German midfielder Pascal Gross is close to joining Borussia Dortmund, with Brighton expected to accept a fee of around €8-10 million.
According to Germany journalist, Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to face any obstacles in signing Gross, as they have already reached a verbal agreement with the player’s representatives.
Gross is report 100 percent committ to joining Borussia Dortmund in the 2024-25 season after talks and persuasion with Lars Ricken, Sebastian Kehl and Sven Mislintat, three figures in the club’s management.
The only remaining step is to agree a fee with Premier League UFABET side Brighton & Hove Albion, with Borussia Dortmund optimistic they can reach an agreement for between €8m and €10m.
For Gross, who joined Brighton from Ingolstadt in 2017 for £3m, he has been a regular for the Seagulls over the past seven seasons, playing a variety of roles including as a midfielder, winger, right-back and striker.
And surprisingly, the 33-year-old midfielder only made his senior Germany debut last year, having made eight appearances and scored one goal, four in 2023 and four in 2024.
The 33 year old is primarily a central midfielder, but is also capable of playing in the number six role and in attacking midfield. He is also more than comfortable of filling in at full-back, and his versatility could prove to be very useful for Borussia Dortmund during what promises to be a gruelling upcoming campaign.
Borussia Dortmund have also been link with a move for Rayan Cherki in recent weeks. But it remains to be seen if they will still pursue a move for the highly rated attacking midfielder if they sign Pascal Gross.
